Technical Presentation

The Equestrian Center, a restored building of exceptional architecture, with its peculiar roof, is especially suitable for commercial and cultural events. The facility is supplemented with two outdoor arenas which can be used for sports and other cultural events. These areas have already been used in combination for cultural events. The Equestrian Centre hosted the Modern Pentathlon World Cup 2005.

The Equestrian Centre includes the main Equestrian building (dimensions 75m x 23.5m and height 9m), the main outdoor event arena (competition area of 100 m x 70 m and permanent tier with 1.020 seats), the auxiliary outdoor arena (area 4.000 sq. m.), the stables (600 sq. m.), the electrical sub-station, the former medical buildings and the restaurant.

In addition to the uses provided for during the period of the Olympic Games, pursuant to Article 20 of Law 3342/2005 (Government Gazette Issue No. 131/A/6-6-2005), the following uses are also permitted:

  • Cultural Events

  • Public Gathering Areas

  • Outdoor public gathering areas
