Technical Presentation

The indoor venues of the Helliniko Complex hosted Basketball and Fencing competitions during the Olympic Games of 2004. A connection building that accommodates offices and auxiliary spaces links the two venues.

Located in the western part of the former airport of Helliniko on a land plot area of 109.000 sq. m., the complex is a renovation and extension of former aviation hangars.

The Basketball venue has a capacity of 12.600 temporary seats and offers a warm-up area, supporting halls and a marble foyer area. The former Olympic Fencing Centre consists of a single column free space of 6.800 sq. m.

These venues have already hosted concerts, exhibitions and sports events.
