
Located in Mainland Greece in one of the largest seaport cities, the Volos Stadium is a major regional athletic centre. Offering facilities built to the highest standards, the venue hosted the qualifying football games for during the Olympic Games of 2004. The Panthessaliko stadium consists of
- Main football field and a racetrack of 8 lanes
- An auxiliary stadium with racetrack
- Auxiliary outdoor facilities (tennis, handball, basketball courts and mini soccer field)
- Additional areas for various sports (wrestling, judo, taekwondo, boxing, weightlifting, gymnastics, swimming), as well as auxiliary areas. It also comprises training multiple-purposes halls, administration offices, and an ergometry center.
The stadium has a total capacity of 21.000 seats.
Uses:
In addition to the uses provided for during the period of the Olympic Games, pursuant to Article 16 of Law 3342/2005 (Government Gazette Issue No. 131/A/6-6-2005), the following uses are also permitted:
- Shops, restaurants
- Cultural events
- Training center
- Hosting exhibitions in temporary prefabricated constructions.
